Volunteering
La Crescent Animal Rescue (LAR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the protection and welfare of animals in La Crescent, Minnesota. Through our wonderful, passionate, committed team of volunteers we are able to continue with our mission to create a safe, healthy and more enjoyable experience for our animals. Volunteering also provides the chance to make new friends, both four-legged and two-legged, and help spread the word about the mission of the shelter and the animals available for adoption.
La Crescent Animal Rescue is open by appointment, or every Wednesday and Saturday. While our dogs are typically kept in foster, when we don't have an available foster home they need care at our rescue. Our cats are primarily cared for onsite. Even though we only have limited open hours to the public, the work continues around the clock! We desperately need more volunteers to keep our mission moving and our animals cared for.
